A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle (1963 Newbery Award)

Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! Voices from a Medieval Village by Laura Amy Schlitz (2008 Newbery Award)

Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson (1978 Newbery Award)

From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg (1968 Newbery Award)

Holes by Louis Sachar (1999 Newbery Award)

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill (2017 Newbery Award)

We hope you enjoy listening to these stories, and we hope that you find some time today to read, too!

“Magical Safari” Show Available

Magician Mark Wood presents his zany family show “Magical Safari,” which combines comedy, magic, and juggling with an animal theme for this year’s “Tails & Tales” summer learning program!

Click here to view it any time from July 17 – August 18!

Mark has visited our library to perform magic shows many times, and we are happy to be able to still provide our patrons with his annual summer show, virtually this year. Enjoy!

Spring Storytime Session

Our daily storytimes are on a brief spring break for the next two weeks. The Spring session of storytimes begins on Monday April 5 at 10:30 a.m. and lasts for five weeks.

Families are invited to pick a day they would like to attend — Monday through Thursday — and register once for the Spring session. Registration can be found here.

All daily storytimes are live and interactive on Zoom with your favorite Hudson Library children’s librarians. They are geared toward ages 2-5, but all children are welcome!

Our New Education Resources Site!

Check out our brand-new education resources website for students, teachers, and parents here!

This new online resource has loads of helpful websites and information, divided into age groups for birth-Pre-K, grades K-5, and middle & high school. Links include a variety of academic subjects, educational resources, literacy information, and learning-based game sites.

Also on this site, you will find:

  • Library links, including information on at-home library use and STEM kits
  • Local links for Hudson, Ohio
  • Featured resources, which include main sites such as tutor.com

Parents and teachers may also access our material request form. Here, you may request materials of all types and subjects, either specific titles or general topics. Our children’s librarians then will select books and materials based on your list and contact you for curbside or drive-through pickup.

For easy reference, this blog also has a link to the education resources site at the top of each page on the toolbar.

Children’s Department Newsletters

Do you receive our Children’s Department weekly emailed newsletters? They are full of information and links for upcoming library programs and events for kids of all ages. Occasionally, we send out an email about a specific special library event for kids, tweens, or teens, too.

If you would like to subscribe, send your name and email address to mail.child@hudson.lib.oh.us to be added to the list.

You can also find program information and registration on our online calendar here.

We hope to see you soon at some of our virtual events for kids and families!
